1. We’ve Welcomed Guests for Over 20 Years

Our Gatlinburg hotel has been welcoming guests for more than 20 years. We celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2020, and we’re looking forward to celebrating many more milestones in the years to come! We love being a place that families can return to year after year and providing a relaxing getaway in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. We have a variety of guest rooms available, making it easy for solo travelers, couples, families, and friends to find comfort at our hotel. 2. We Have a Rich History

We’re more than just an ordinary hotel. Our property is rooted deep in Gatlinburg history. It all began with our owner’s grandmother, Hattie Ogle McGiffin. Hattie was one of the most hardworking residents in Gatlinburg. In the early 1940s, she recognized a need for overnight accommodations in Gatlinburg as more people fell in love with the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. She started out by opening the Bearskin Tourist Home that consisted of a house and 7 cottages that she built on family property. When demand grew, The Bearskin Motel was created — a 15-room motel that was complete with a bearskin-shaped swimming pool. Guests that came to Gatlinburg loved the authentic, warm and welcoming hospitality that Hattie always provided and so her business continued to grow and expand. However, in true business fashion, Hattie decided that parking was needed the most, so in the late 1980s, The Bearskin Motel was replaced with the current Bearskin Parking Garage. In 1997, the Ogle family purchased the land where The Bearskin Lodge sits today and created the current hotel you know and love. Learn more about our history now!
