Our hotel in Gatlinburg on the river was built to honor and pay homage to Hattie Ogle McGiffin, our owners’ grandmother. Hattie was a pioneer of hospitality here in the Smokies, a legendary Woman of the Smokies, and the owner of the former Bearskin Motel that inspired the development of Bearskin Lodge on the River. The Ogle family designed our property to be a reflection of their grandmother’s hospitality. One step into our lobby and guests immediately feel the cozy and comfortable atmosphere. From the native stones forming the walls to the custom-made hickory furniture, it’s clear to see that no details were missed. The same ambiance flows into our guest rooms as well. Guests are treated to accommodations that create a home away from home experience during their stay. All of our guest rooms include hardwood floors, hickory furniture, large flat-screen televisions, in-room amenities, walk-in showers, and beautiful custom-made beds. We offer suites, rooms with fireplaces, options of having a balcony that overlooks the river, city view rooms, and adjoining rooms upon request. During the warmer months, our outdoor pool and lazy river add to the fun of the trip and our outdoor fire pits are a great spot for relaxing year-round.
