1. Enjoy Snow Sports at Ober Mountain

Although the weather starts to get warmer in March, it typically stays cool until closer to the end of the month. So what do you do while it’s still a little chilly? You enjoy the snow sports at Ober Mountain ! This ski resort has several ski and snowboarding runs on the mountain for people of all skill levels to enjoy. The SkyBridge is decked out in bright green lights with a beautiful light tunnel in the center, as well as dangling, twinkling shamrocks hanging from the bridge. In addition to the fun decor, you can grab a drink at the bar in the SkyCenter, take a walk on the SkyTrail, and just enjoy the views from the SkyDeck!

4. See the First Wildflowers of the Season

Another thing to do in Gatlinburg in March is take in the first wildflowers of the season! March is when vegetation starts to bloom in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park , and you have a ton of options of where to go. Some of the best wildflower hikes near Gatlinburg include Laurel Falls (which also has a huge 80-foot-tall waterfall at the end), Porters Creek Trail, and Little River Trail. Most of the blooms won’t start until mid to late March, so if you’re in town during this time, it’s perfect for seeing the flowers!
