To help you make the most of your getaway, we have put together a guide to five of the best downtown Gatlinburg restaurants near our hotel.

1. The Peddler Steakhouse

Dining at The Peddler is a Gatlinburg tradition! This legendary restaurant has been delighting guests with its hickory charcoal-grilled steaks since 1976. Boasting a charming atmosphere and lovely views of the Little Pigeon River, The Peddler is the perfect spot for a romantic meal with your sweetheart. In addition to its mouthwatering steaks, The Peddler is famous for its expansive salad bar and decadent chocolate cake.

We recommend taking advantage of The Peddler’s call ahead seating if you will be visiting over the weekend. Guests at the Bearskin Lodge will be just a minute’s walk from The Peddler.

2. Smith & Son Corner Kitchen

Offering casual American fare, this restaurant is great for a family meal or a vacation with your friends. We’re big fans of Smith and Son burgers, which can be ordered with a variety of special toppings like vegetables, sauteed mushrooms, pico de gallo, grilled onions, and a variety of cheeses. Smith and Son is an 8-minute walk from our hotel.

3. Old Dad’s General Store

If you’re planning a picnic in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a stop at Old Dad’s is an absolute must! Located near the entrance to the park, this general store and deli is the perfect place to grab sandwiches before heading into the Smokies. Old Dad’s friendly staff will even pack your picnic for you, taking care to separate lettuce and tomato in plastic bags so they don’t get soggy. Old Dad’s is a 3-minute walk from the Bearskin Lodge.

4. The Melting Pot

Dinner at The Melting Pot is a unique experience that you’ll remember long after your vacation has ended. This popular restaurant specializes in cheese fondue that can be enjoyed with your choice of breads, vegetables, and meats. For dessert, guests can split a pot of rich chocolate fondue that comes with fruit, brownies, marshmallows, and other treats. The Melting Pot is a 5-minute walk from our hotel.

Designed to look like an authentic mountain lodge, The Park Grill embraces its Appalachian heritage with beautiful decorations unlike anything else in the area. Highlights of The Park Grill’s menu include the steaks, kabobs, trout, prime rib, and pork shank. Be sure to save room for dessert, because the creme brulee is simply magnificent!
