Top 5 Things to Know About the New Gatlinburg Sky Lift Park

The Gatlinburg Sky Lift Park is going to be introducing 2 new and exciting attractions: the SkyBridge and the SkyDeck! These fantastic additions are set to be completed sometime between April and May of 2019, and you could be one of the first people to try them out! Here are 5 things that you should know about the new and improved Gatlinburg Sky Lift Park!

1. Gatlinburg Sky Lift

Since 1954, it has become a tradition to take a ride on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift! You and up to 2 other friends or family members can sit in a single chair, and share the experience side-by-side. After you’ve taken your seat in the chairlift, you’ll travel 500 vertical feet up to the top of Crockett Mountain! Along the way, you’ll get to see breathtaking views of the Smokies and downtown Gatlinburg. Until construction on the SkyDeck and SkyBridge is complete, you can sit back and enjoy a smooth round trip ride without stopping.

2. SkyDeck

This expansive viewing deck features a spectacular new restaurant and bar, a gift shop, and seating areas where you can take in the sweeping mountain vistas! You can kick back in one of the chairs on the SkyDeck to enjoy a craft beer or your lunch while you enjoy the views. Don’t forget to take some pictures with the amazing scenery there as your backdrop!

3. SkyBridge

When construction is complete, the SkyBridge will be the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America! It will stretch 680 feet across a deep valley, and you’ll be able to enjoy it all at your own pace. It is 140 feet above ground at its midpoint where you can find glass-floor panels that allow you to look down. It’s sure to be an experience that you’ll remember forever!

4. Where to Park

There are no parking areas immediately at the base of this attraction. However, there are 2 parking lots just a short walk away that you can use. The Gatlinburg Sky Lift is located right in the heart of the downtown area. So, the walk to get to it will be anything but boring! You’ll have a great time strolling past unique, shops, restaurants, and more along the way!

5. Ways to Save

If you’re planning on visiting with a group of 15 people or more, don’t forget to call the Gatlinburg Sky Lift so that you can take advantage of their amazing group rates! They also offer discounts for all active and retired United States Military with identification. Members of the military and up to 4 immediate family members can save $2.00 on single or unlimited tickets. There are even discounts for local residents with a Sevier County driver's license or any other proof of local residency.
